New & Prospective Students

Welcome to the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The College, according to U.S. News & World Report, is ranked as a Top 100 Graduate School of Education.  We are happy you are considering pursuing your education at SIUC.  We look forward to meeting you and helping further your education.

Many tools are available to help you learn more about the University, our College, and your department.  One important resource to assist you is the Undergraduate Catalog.  If you have not already picked up a copy, this publication can be ordered by calling Undergraduate Admissions at 618.536.4405.  We also have a COEHS Undergraduate Student Handbook online, which will cover everything from the academic calendar, registration, bursar, advisement, majors, etc.

If you need to register for classes, please call our Academic Advisement office at 618.453.6340 and schedule an appointment.   Our academic advisors are friendly professionals who will help plan your classes as well as help you become familiar with your program of study. When calling the Academic Advisement office, please let them know you are a new student, and they will set up an appointment for you with your academic advisor.
